Founded by our very own Chuck and Sue Ruehle, with Mponda Malozo of the Universe Awareness Program, Telescopes to Tanzania brings telescopes and science education to rural Tanzanian primary and secondary schools in order to engage young learners in a strong, hands-on foundation in science education.
Without funds for the instruments of science, most Tanzanian schools teach only theory, the learners mostly confined to memorization from the classroom seats. Telescopes bring instructors and learners together, hands-on in the engagement of astronomy which leads to questions about biology, chemistry, geology, and physics.
This three minute video provides an introduction to the work of Telescopes to Tanzania and calls for your assistance to help build the first hands-on science center in Tanzania.
