Fundraising Update: $12 Million and Counting!
Thanks to you, we’ve hit another milestone! The ELCA Malaria Campaign has raised more than $12 million so far-which means we’re 80% of the way to our $15 million goal. Here are some milestones to celebrate this month:
$250,000: Sierra Pacific, Southwester Minnesota
$200,000: Northern Illinois, Virginia Synod
$100,000: Southeastern Synod
More than $5/member: Sierra Pacific
World Malaria Week Surpasses $250,000 Goal!
World Malaria Day has come and gone with a flurry of activity and fundraising from faithful people all over the ELCA.
Many congregations observed Malaria Sunday on April 27 with an emphasis on malaria during worship services, Sunday school classes and fellowship time. The ELCA Malaria Campaign had a goal of raising $250,000 during that week, and that goal was met and exceeded! This also means that the $100,000 matching challenge has been met.
Thank you! There is more than enough funding to begin the first year of programming in Namibia. Thanks to your successful efforts throughout the end of April and beginning of May, the ELCA Malaria Campaign has now raised more than $12 million to support malaria prevention, education and treatment in 13 countries in Africa. We celebrate this success with you and march on toward our overall campaign goal of $15 million! Thank you!
