Tree Planting at Reformation Lutheran Church, Brookfield

  Posted on   by   No comments

On Reformation Sunday, October 30, Reformation celebrated its 74th anniversary by planting a flowering crab apple tree on the church lawn. Their hope as they enter their 75th year, and in recognition of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, is to plant or sponsor 75 trees.
On the beautiful fall Sunday they processed out of the church building, led by the children ringing bells, to the lawn where everyone had the opportunity to shovel in soil around the tree. They all raised their hands in blessing of the tree which will share beauty with all who pass by and offer fruit and shelter to creatures.
