As we continue in the celebration of Easter and the gift of new life, what better way to celebrate Earth Week than with the planting of trees?

Through the generosity of Keeping Greater Milwaukee Beautiful we have received 100 bare-root bur oak trees, a species native to Wisconsin. Each tree is about 18 inches tall and needs to be planted by mid May. There are no restrictions on where these can be planted.

Trees are available to all congregations in the GMS. Please contact Margaret Schoewe with questions and to make arrangements to receive trees.

Planting instructions for bare root trees will soon be added here.

As we move forward with commemorating the Reformation and celebrating the the last 50 years of Lutheran Catholic dialogue, please consider inviting your Roman Catholic neighbors to plant with you. Thanks to our GMS churches we currently have almost 100 trees planted or committed to be planted.

NOTE: There is still $500 per cluster available to help with planting bigger trees.
