Assistant to the Bishop for Missional Leadership

The Assistant to the Bishop for Missional Leadership oversees leadership development opportunities in the Greater Milwaukee Synod, collaborates with the bishop to convene regular gatherings of various groups of rostered ministers and assists with congregational call processes.

The Greater Milwaukee Synod (GMS) is a geographic grouping of congregations, extending from Sheboygan down to the Illinois border and from Lake Michigan to the western edge of Waukesha County. We are one of 65 synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). This synod is made up of 129 congregations and 76,000 baptized members in southeastern Wisconsin led by Bishop Paul Erickson and a 17-member synod council.

This position reports directly to the Bishop and is a full time, salaried, exempt position open to interested applicants regardless of roster status. Occasional nights and weekends required.
