We want to make you aware of two opportunities to travel and visit our companions in El Salvador:
First, The Salvadoran Lutheran Church along with partner churches is making a call for international election observers to come observe the March 4, 2018 elections. The churches and observers play an important role in guaranteeing the integrity of the electoral process. It’s a fascinating chance to see democracy up close. There is a delegation planned from February 28 through March 6 which includes workshops, training and more.
Second, a delegation is being planned next summer for clergy of the Greater Milwaukee Synod as a learning experience about El Salvador, its people and their faith, the work of the Salvadoran Lutheran church, the martyrs of El Salvador including Oscar Romero and the 4 US churchwomen and more. The delegation is tentatively scheduled for July 5-12, 2018. If you have ever wanted the chance to learn first hand about the synod’s partnership with El Salvador, this will be your chance.
Online information sessions have been scheduled for both trips for anyone interested.
