Audio Technician (Atonement, Muskego)

  

Reports to: Senior Pastor
Status: Part time (3 services, approximately 4.5 hours/week, plus special services and events as needed)
FSLA: Non-exempt

Job Summary
The Audio Technician will prepare and operate audio and video livestreaming equipment for all worship services at Atonement, currently three Sunday services during the program year and two during the summer, as well as various midweek services (e.g. midweek Lent, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Holy Week), supporting both traditional and contemporary musicians, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Essential Functions:
• Operate sound and livestreaming equipment for assigned worship services
• Perform equipment checks before worship services
• Ensure that sound design integrity and performance are maintained throughout worship services
• Help worship participants, lead musicians, and music ensembles with set-up/tear down of sound equipment
• Assist with maintenance of audio equipment
• Communicate in a clear, concise, and timely manner with pastors, lead musicians, and other staff and volunteers
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the AV booth

Other Responsibilities:
• Meet with pastors/church staff/music ensembles to discuss ongoing audio and video needs
• Train and serve as a resource for volunteers in the AV booth to diagnose and solve problems
• Participate with a team of members and vendors to evaluate options for new or replacement technology and make recommendations

Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent – technical diploma or associate degree in audio engineering preferred
• Dependable – must be on time for worship
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of individuals with a variety of abilities and backgrounds

Physical Requirements:
• Able to easily access the AV booth, video camera locations, AV closet, and outdoor worship space
• Able to quickly and easily communicate with worship leaders and volunteers, including during worship
• Able to safely lift 50 lbs. of audio equipment
