OSLC is seeking a Summer Intern to join their innovative and growing staff. This position will work alongside Family Ministry staff to provide leadership for our Campfire Worship, Sunday Outdoor Worship, Summer Stretch and Vacation Bible School programs, allowing the intern to exercise their gifts and passion for ministry leadership. This is a part-time seasonal position.


Summer Worship and Family Ministry Intern
Reports to: Education Pastor

Campfire Worship Coordinator
• Plan and lead weekly camp fire worship music in coordination with Pastors and Jason.
• Set up and clean up
• Coordinate activities and snacks with Our Savior’s pastors and staff
• Build relationships with participants and help to create a warm, welcoming environment.

Sunday Morning Outdoor Worship areas of responsibly include but are not limited to:
• Help set up and take down sound system
• Help with set of chairs, alter, etc
• Help with running the sound board during worship

Summer Stretch areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
• Help coordinate and lead programming for Summer Stretch.
• Lead and actively participate in group devotions and games.
• Build relationships with youth, their families and volunteers.
• Other duties as required by this internship experience or as assigned.

Vacation Bible School & Outdoor Adventure Camp areas of responsibility include but
are not limited to:
• Help the Family Ministry staff prepare curriculum and train volunteers.
• Assist in room set-up and preparation the week prior to VBS.
• Help coordinate and lead large and small group areas as needed.
• Assist in wrap-up and clean-up following the week of VBS.
• Build relationships with children, their families and volunteers.
• Other duties as required by this internship experience or as assigned.

We are seeking individuals who:
• Love God, care for children, youth and their families, and are passionate about their faith.
• Possess and can articulate a foundational knowledge of Lutheran theology and practices.
• Are confident self-starters willing to provide relational ministry to a diverse group of students and parents.
• Have the ability, confidence, and experience to be a leader for large groups of children
and youth, to facilitate small group activities, and to supervise volunteers.
• Have the ability to, confidence and experience to teach and lead songs in a campfire
setting with a diverse group of participants.
• Play the guitar.

• Minimum one year post-high school education; preference may be given to student applicants with education or experience in children or youth ministry, education fields, child or
youth development, social services, and camping or recreation.
• Strong organizational, administrative and time management skills.
• Demonstrates competence in making decisions.
• Able to take direction, assume responsibility and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Flexible, dependable, and punctual.
• Understands the importance of working with a team.
• Able to establish appropriate personal boundaries and utilize proper referral resources.
• Understands and maintains confidential information as it pertains to staff, members, attenders and visitors.

Physical considerations:
• Must be able to board and ride in a general school bus.
• Must be able to climb stairs, sit on the floor, and stand for hours at a time.
• Must be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions.
• Minimal lifting required.
