Join us for our first Anti-Racism retreat to build community and create awareness about racism today. This retreat is intended for 8th – 12th graders, and adult mentors. Campers should register as a church group, with one chaperone per gender for every eight campers attending.
One of the most important things is creating a common vocabulary for all to use. Guest speakers will highlight this retreat, presenting ideas and tactics for responding to racialized situations, and strategies for safety and awareness.
Come as a church group and take the opportunity to work with youth from other churches and areas, to hear their perspective, and to share in fruitful discussion. Activities will include great food, games, music, crafts, Bible study, worship, discussion and more!
We don’t walk this journey alone, and our hope is to connect scripture to the work we are doing in the world today. The ideas don’t stop with this retreat. As you build relationships and challenge your thinking, you are being sent out as a disciple into the world to advocate for change.
