October 11-13, 2021
Lake Lawn Resort, Delavan

This year’s Fall Leadership Conference will feature singer/songwriter Rachel Kurtz, and author and blogger Rev. Dr. Rebecca Ehrlich

Fall Leadership Conference Update 9/1/2021

We are moving forward with an in person event next month, October 11-13, at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan. In light of the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 virus, we want to share the modifications and protocols we are putting in place to minimize the risk of transmission, which we hope will allow all who would like to gather to join us there:

  • Masks will be required during our sessions together in our main meeting room;
  • Snacks and coffee will be served in the lobby where people can distance, remove masks, and move around indoor and outdoor spaces; breaks will be longer as well;
  • Meals will be served outdoors, weather permitting; indoor meals can be taken and eaten in various spaces;
  • Singing during devotion/worship time will be only by the worship leader unless we are outdoors;
  • We are exploring how we might share portions of the event via Zoom or Facebook Live as well.

Registration deadline for those who want to lodge at Lake Lawn is next Wednesday, September 8th. Commuter registration closes on September 29th. There will be details later for those who would like to participate via Zoom for the portions of the event available that way.

Rachel Kurtz

Rachel has been touring and singing for almost 20 years. She speaks frankly about love, God, parenting, heartbreak and her infectious laugh is peppered throughout her concerts. Her songs are rife with emotion and can make you get up and dance. Whether she is singing in a bar or church, her voice can cut through the noise and gives the listener a place to rest. She has sung at the last 6 national youth gatherings and her song “Make a Difference” is sung nationwide on any given Sunday. Rachel will be with us as our worship & music leader.

Rev. Dr. Rebecca Ehrlich

The Rev. Dr. Ehrlich will also be with us for two of our sessions during this year’s Conference. She is an ELCA pastor and new Associate Dean for Community Life at General Theological Seminary in New York City. Becca, as she is known, is the author of the book, Christian Minimalism: Simple Steps for Abundant Living, and of the blog, Christian Minimalism. As we navigate life and ministry in a pandemic/post-pandemic age with all that we have learned and experienced, we will explore how Christian Minimalism might be a gift to us as leaders.
