Outreach for Hope – Rev. Jim Bickel’s Retirement Celebration
November 12 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. (1 John 4:16)
Please join us to celebrate Rev. Jim Bickel’s service in the Greater Milwaukee Synod as a parish pastor, followed by eight years as Executive Director of Outreach for Hope, an ELCA ministry serving communities challenged by poverty. Jim’s many accomplishments include significantly raising awareness of Outreach for Hope through initiating the Family Bike Ride and Lenten Devotions, and building strong partnerships with ELCA pastors and congregations.
Our celebration takes place on Sunday, November 12th at Redeemer Lutheran Church (19th and Wisconsin, Milwaukee.) The reception runs from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, with a brief program at 4:00 pm.
This event is free – but attendees are encouraged to RSVP by November 1st, 2017 at the following link:
Gifts honoring Jim’s service may be designated to the new Urban Internship Fund of Outreach for Hope (OFH), which will support seminary internships in congregations serving communities challenged by poverty in the Greater Milwaukee Synod. Or you may choose to give a gift to the General Fund of Outreach for Hope, where your support will be used where it is most needed to fund a variety of OFH ministries throughout southeastern Wisconsin.
