The Anti-Racism team of the Greater Milwaukee Synod is revisioning its mission, vision and scope of work. This group which faithfully served with us for the last several decades is in need of people who are passionate and committed. If this is you, we welcome your leadership! If you are feeling called to work alongside us in the efforts to achieve diversity, equity, and inclusion in our churches and communities – especially BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals – we welcome you to join us for our upcoming retreat.
If you are planning to attend, please obtain a copy of the book, “My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Mending of our Bodies and Hearts.” We will be working with chapters 1-4; remember to complete the centering practices for each chapter. If you are in need of a scholarship or a free copy of this book, please contact us right away so that we can complete your registration and/or get you a copy of the book.Lunch will be provided by the Church of the Great Spirit. We are honored to be hosted by the congregation who has also offered to bless the meal with a smudging of the food. (We will ask about food allergies and restrictions as part of online registration.)
