Energy was high three weeks ago when more than 230 people gathered in the basement of Mount Hope Lutheran Church in West Allis for the Cluster Assembly event. We wondered together how we could listen to God by engaging more deeply in our communities, and we considered five questions for community engagement. These questions, and related action plans, are posted online. We hope to be able to share some stories at the Synod Assembly in June, so please sign up to register the question that you will be pursuing and share what you discover by May 15.
We’ve set up a few ways to connect with others as you engage in this effort: first, there is a Facebook group called Congregational Listening Projects where you can post questions, ideas, and stories.
Second, we are digging into the questions as a part of this Saturday’s Lead and Learn event. There’s still room, so come on over to Holy Trinity in West Allis to join the conversation.
I’m convinced that God is speaking to us all the time, through the voices and experiences of the every-day folks who make up our congregations and communities. Our calling is to slow down, listen, and pay attention to the movement of the Spirit in our midst. I’m excited to hear what you’re discovering!
