Voting Members by Congregation

Your congregation's baptized membership (as reported in spring 2024 on your 2023 congregational report, Form A) determines your base number of voters. All congregations may send an additional member if that person is 30 years old or younger on the day they are elected or selected to serve. 

Your baptized membership is reported annually on your Form A. We use the data from the most recent closed reporting period at the time that registration opens. For instance, this year we refer to the data you reported in Spring 2024 on the 2023 Congregational Report Form A. (Data reported in spring 2025 will be used for the 2026 Synod Assembly.)

Young Adult voting members must be 30 or younger on the day they are elected or appointed to serve.  They may serve as a voting member even if they turn 31 before or during the assembly.

Retired rostered ministers do not count towards your voting allowance. Retired rostered ministers who wish to be a voting member at synod assembly should contact the synod office before registering.

Yes, we welcome non-voting members to synod assembly. You must register to attend as a non-voting member and you may observe the proceedings but you may not vote. Assembly fees must be paid by all registrants regardless of voting status, and even if they only attend part of assembly. The exceptions are the Friday night dinner (dinner tickets are available separately, but assembly registration is not required) and Friday night worship (which is open to all, with no registration fee required.)
