GMS to Partner with ELCA to Invest in Indigenous Congregation

Our synod is excited to announce a new partnership with the ELCA Churchwide Organization! Together, our organizations have committed to fund a full-time pastor at Lutheran Church of the Great Spirit, an Indigenous ELCA congregation in Milwaukee, for the next three years.

As we stand together with our Indigenous siblings in Christ, we invite you to consider how your congregation may be able to be a part of this shared work. If you are interested in contributing financially toward this effort, learning more, or if you would be willing to connect us to your congregation’s endowment fund or other potential partners you know, please reach out to Pr. Matthew Short at matt@milwaukeesynod.org.

We also invite you to the installation of Pr. Char Guiliani, the newly-called pastor, on Sunday 9/17 at 2 pm at Lutheran Church of the Great Spirit (3127 S Howell, Milwaukee). Please email matt@milwaukeesynod.org to RSVP for this exciting celebration.

We look forward to the ways our synod, together, will rise to meet this opportunity!
