At our October GMS Mission Table gathering, learn from a new ministry in our synod about the ways they are encountering God by gathering for coffee, calm, and communion - not in a church building but in a coffee shop. We'll hear the story and try a brief spiritual practice together.
“Deconstructing Racism” is an introductory anti-racism training facilitated by Rev. Marilyn Miller and Joyce Caldwell, PhD that is grounded in stories of participants, the Bible, and history. Through reflection on those stories, participants examine the construction and meaning of racism and the part we all play in upholding and maintaining the system.
The Reconciling in Christ Ministry Team invites you to proclaim “We Love All” as we learn how to be communities of welcome, inclusion, and celebration of our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ. This year we will welcome Rev. Jonah Overton (@rev_jonah) from Zao MKE Church to share with us how a queer perspective can enrich our theology and open our eyes to see Scripture in a new light. Bishop Erickson will be leading a trip to visit our partners in the Lutheran Synod of El Salvador, January 16-24, 2024. This visit will include opportunities to learn about the history and current dynamics in the country and in the church, as well as a chance to visit local congregations and leaders.
