The 2026 Compensation and Sabbatical Guidelines were acted on at the September 18, 2025 Synod Council meeting.
For 2026, we are not recommending a standard cost of living adjustment (COLA) for clergy. As explained in the compensation cover letter, we have noticed that the compensation levels recommended in our synod have become increasingly out of line with our neighbors, and the differences were greater at the higher end of the experience grid. While we recommend that each rostered minister receive an increased level of compensation, this is best addressed on a case by case basis.
